Community Support

Netco Electric believes that supporting the community of Moncton is more than just being available to help when problems occur.

We have established alliances with several community groups throughout the Moncton area and provide a variety of support for all events fro donations to actual hands-on assistance.

…Because Hunger Doesn’t Take Weekends Off.

Isthmus Moncton (formerly Blessings in a Backpack) is a unique school-based feeding program. We provide food on the weekends for hungry elementary school children in the greater Moncton area (Moncton, Dieppe, Riverview, Shediac, Salisbury, Petitcodiac, Memramcook, and Hillsborough). We are currently in 30 schools in both the English and French school districts and we are feeding 670 children each week.

Our mission is to fill in this “hunger gap” by providing bags of food for these children to take home with them on Friday for the weekend. Our goal is to not only fill their stomachs but also improve their ability to succeed at school the following week.

Our program is very simple. Elementary school children who are food insecure are identified by school administrators and educators. A team of volunteers purchase food, packs the food into bags and then delivers then bags to the schools by Friday at noon for the children to take home.

Isthmus Moncton is entirely volunteer-driven. We rely on grants, individual and corporate sponsorship and our annual Golf Tournament. It costs $120 to feed a child for one school year. All donations go directly towards purchasing food for these children. Learn more at

Three Fathers Memorial Run

This is an annual event to honour and remember RCMP Constables Douglas Larche, Dave Ross, and Fabrice Gevaudan who were killed on June 4th, 2014.

On June 19th, runners from across the province will gather on the Moncton waterfront for the third annual Three Fathers Memorial Run. The funds raised at this year’s run will create scholarships for the six high schools that Codiac RCMP serve. The scholarships will be given to students who demonstrate leadership, courage, and bravery.

The run was established in 2014 to honour RCMP Constables Douglas Larche, Dave Ross and Fabrice Gevaudan on Father’s Day following their tragic deaths. Along with the organizing team from the first year’s run which included running friends, coworkers and friends of the three officers, this year’s event is being organized with the help of Nadine Larche, wife of Doug Larche.

“We would like to take a minute to thank Netco Electric for their continued support with this very special community event.

Your sponsorship has helped us to keep the legacy of our fallen heroes alive by providing 18 scholarships in the greater Moncton high schools each year. Without backing from community minded businesses like Netco Electric, it would be a challenge to achieve our lofty goals every year.

Thank you on behalf of the Three Father’s Memorial Committee.” – Christy Matthews
